Get to know me
I am currently working at NBC 2 in Fort Myers, Florida. I’m enjoying the sunny beaches and warm weather, while also diving in to tell stories that matter. While here, I have covered the coronavirus pandemic as well as many other major stories. I’ve pushed for more transparency from hospital, health, and state officials; I have covered the devastating economic impacts, both to families and businesses struggling to survive; and the tragic loss of life-impacting so many. Through my reporting I feel I have made an impact, holding leaders accountable for their role in mitigating the virus as well as providing critical information to inform and create awareness among community members.
I’ve also had the chance to cover several storms that hit the coast of Florida in one of the most active hurricane seasons on record, as well as President Trump’s visit to Fort Myers.
Before moving to Florida, I was an anchor and reporter at KEZI 9 News in Eugene, Oregon. While there, I also covered a wide range of stories including a deadly officer-involved shooting at Cascade Middle School, which gained national attention, a sexual assault scandal at a Springfield school, a historic snowstorm that caused widespread damage, and the homeless crisis in Western Oregon.
I also worked as the broadcast managing editor for the Baylor Lariat in Waco, Texas where I covered the Twin Peaks Trial, the 2016 Presidential election, the inaugural Women’s March in Washington D.C., and the Baylor sexual assault scandal. As part of my coverage of the Baylor scandal, I won numerous awards for my work investigating the voting privileges of student regents. My work also led to change, with student regents gaining voting rights.
I graduated from Baylor University in 2017 with degrees in Journalism and Political Science. During my time there, I interned with KWTX in Waco, Texas, and WJLA in Washington D.C.
When I am not reporting, I love writing, cooking, and taking my cat, Oliver, on walks!
